Be a Poll Watcher

Support a Candidate or a Cause at the Polls

  • Poll Watcher -  A person appointed to observe the conduct of an election on behalf of: a candidate, a political party, or the proponents or opponents of a measure (specific-purpose political action committees).

  • Poll watchers observe inside the 100 foot boundary but CANNOT interact with the voters.

  • Contact the Bexar County Democratic Party or other group engaged in campaigning for an election to volunteer to be a Poll Watcher. 

  • Online Poll Watcher Training is available from the Office of the Secretary of State of Texas.

  • Bexar County Democratic Party fields Poll Greeters who provide a more informal function greeting voters and answering questions, but are not affiliated with a specific campaign or Election Protection organizations.  They can interact with voters (electioneer) 100 feet outside of the polling location.
